We will begin rolling out a new routing layer for our public cloud customers based on the open source Nginx technology. The routing layer is a key component of our runtime. It handles all incoming API calls and dispatches them to the right proxy implementation. It terminates SSL connections and performs load balancing.
This change to the routing layer will allow us to offer a number of new security and traffic management features in the coming months. In addition, the Nginx technology is extremely well proven and will help make our services even more robust. The change to the routing layer will be done in multiple steps and is expected to have no impact on your API traffic.
We will begin making this change starting 08/17/2015 and expect to complete all the steps by 08/28/2015. In addition to using our regularly scheduled maintenance windows, we will add these one-time maintenance windows (Asia Pacific: UTC + 8:00, Europe: UTC + 1:00, Americas: UTC - 5:00)
- 08/18/2015: 12 AM - 4 AM
